After wearing herself down to an 8-day hospital stay from working two jobs while caring for her one-year-old baby, Raine decided to explore opportunities to make money online. She came across digital marketing and selling digital products.šŸ”

Documenting her journey to $5K a month and sharing it on social media, she invited others to take on the same challenge and built a community online. She hit her goal in just 22 days.šŸ¤Æ A year later, sheā€™s set to reach $25K this month from selling digital products.

Raine has always been a hard worker, jumping straight into the workforce right after high school to make ends meet. She has worked as a house cleaner, dog sitter, house sitter, nanny, assistant, and social media manager.

Now, there's nothing Raine wants more than to change the course of her life and give her son a different lifestyle than she had growing up.

So far, her highest single-day earnings are $2,700, solely from TikTok.šŸ”„

Coming from someone who always has to work extra hard just to scrape by, she wants to share to everyone that there is something better. And if you bring that story, you bring that hustle into your online business, you can build wealth in a way you never even thought was possible for your family.šŸ’Ž

In this session, she shares actionable advice and recommendations on:

šŸ“øBeing comfortable on camera

šŸ”„Starting your online business

āš–ļøBalancing work and family life

šŸŽÆFinding a niche

šŸ”‘Investing in yourself

Let's go through her tips.āœØ

Tip #1: Thereā€™s no better time to be an entrepreneur than now.

Take the leap. Donā€™t wait too long to feel that you have to know everything. Iā€™m pretty sure you probably know enough to at least get started.

Thatā€™s the one regret that I have, that I waited so long to feel I needed to figure more stuff out before I just took the leap.šŸƒā€ā™€ļø

And when you come to this space, you realize, once you learn these skills, thereā€™s nobody telling me how much money I can make today. Thereā€™s nobody gonna tell me that thereā€™s only a certain amount. The potential, because we market on social media, the possibilities are endless.šŸ™Œ

I can make what I need and I can make more than what I need. I can dictate that by how much I wanna work.

Tip #2: Document your way to the top.

Everybody loves to see the underdog, everyone wants to see the ups and downs, everyone wants to see relatable content, everyone wants to see what youā€™re learning in real-time.šŸ‘€

And so I always coach my people, donā€™t wait till youā€™re perfect. Weā€™re always learning, the platforms are changing, the gameā€™s changing all the time. So when youā€™re waiting to feel you know it all, youā€™re always gonna be behind. A day late and a dollar short.

But if you can say, you know what, I am going to document my way to the top, while Iā€™m making money and doing my business, the only difference between that person and the other person that hasnā€™t started is they actually said yes to starting.āœ…

I kinda took this approach when I first started. I said, I think I have this figured out, Iā€™m not 100% sure, but this is my goal: ā€œI wanna be able to make 5k a month selling digital products from my phone and Iā€™m gonna walk you through everything I do.ā€šŸŽÆ

And so I was able to add value and teach in real-time as I was learning the things. And I crushed my 5k month in 22 days by simply just staying transparent. I wasn't pretending to be a know-it-all, I was learning in real-time. And then obviously, my years of experience added to the value that I was able to give.

But I think thereā€™s something about just documenting your journey. People are gonna feel they're not too far behind you, so itā€™s a perfect way for beginners to start while you're learning. Thatā€™s how you entertain while being educational.šŸ’Æ

How did you become comfortable in front of the camera and getting out there?

Iā€™m a natural extrovert. So I donā€™t mind coming up and talking. When I first started, Iā€™m not gonna act like I wasnā€™t. When I had a baby, I got hyperpigmentation on my face. So, when I first started, I was just thinking, people are gonna judge me, theyā€™re gonna say comments about it.āš ļø

I think once you just start recording and you put yourself online, now, I just feel like, nothing really hurts me. Iā€™m putting myself on the internet, I am documenting my life. I am showing the ups and downs, the ugly. Now, I just do it and I get better every single day. You work through your insecurities, whatever those are, coming on camera.šŸ’Ŗ

Tip #3: Record yourself a lot.

If someone is struggling being in front of the camera, there are two things I recommend:

First, record a lot in your camera roll, not even worried about posting. This is so you can get familiar with what it looks like to look at yourself and to know what your voice sounds like. These are the two things that stumble people from putting themselves online. So before you go live or create a piece of content, just start recording yourself in your phone to take that edge off.šŸ¤³

Second, if youā€™re marketing something, and youā€™re needing to overcome some skills, find something that you naturally love and sell it to your friend on Facetime, and record that call. So you can actually see your face like your fluctuations are, how you show up when you really believe in something, and then try to channel that person when you go online. Because once you see yourself in that position, itā€™s easier to channel yourself when it comes to content.šŸ‘€

Whatā€™s your typical day look like now?

I donā€™t work before noon. I donā€™t post content before noon. I spend my mornings with my baby, whoā€™s 3 years old now, and with my family. I try to have strict boundary so that I can have about 3 to 4, sometimes 5 hours, depending on when I have a workshop. But I usually just start my workday at noon. I reply to DMā€™s, do the emails, create a content.

Tip #4: Focus on what matters.

When you can learn your money making tasks, you can really time that, you can really manage your time better. I think in the beginning, I was doing a lot of work that I thought was producing but it really wasnā€™t.šŸšØ

I recommend everyone to get a time audit in their business. To make sure that the tasks theyā€™re doing are actually producing fruit. And so when I really start to hone in on the tasks that actually make me money, I do those daily. Thatā€™s responding to emails, responding to DMs, creating content on my platforms, checking in with my personal community, going live a couple times a week.

When you work on yourself and really nail down that schedule, it allows you to have the freedom to build a successful business while not being glued to the phone 24 hours.

Tip #5: Set strict boundaries between work and family time

When I work 3 to 5 hours, I still have most of my day. I spend the late afternoons doing bedtime and if I go back to work, itā€™s usually 10 pm when my sonā€™s asleep.āœ…

It really allows me to have those pocket of times where Iā€™m just a mom. And then when Iā€™m at work, Iā€™m just worried about work. Iā€™m not trying to blend the two. And I think as moms who work out of the home, weā€™re never 100% present when weā€™re at work and weā€™re never 100% present when weā€™re at home.

So when Iā€™m in my work zone in those 3-5 hours, Iā€™m just Raine the boss, Raine the entrepreneur. And then when Iā€™m with my son, because of this business, the opportunity, I can be a hundred percent a mom, and I can shut the other roles off. It really allows that focus work and that focus time with my family.āœØ

Thereā€™s gonna be long nights, but I donā€™t want to make it the norm.

Is an online business the best opportunity right now for mompreneurs and dadpreneurs?

I sell digital products, digital courses, and I do digital service. I think itā€™s best.

I really do believe this with  my whole heart, that anyone can sell a digital product in any niche.šŸ’Æ

You can build a brand and sell a digital product in anything you are knowledgeable about and find the audience that needs that.šŸ™Œ

Especially for moms, they can take anything theyā€™ve been through, whether itā€™s being a single parent or going through a divorce, sharing their journey through divorce and how you can heal from divorce.

I feel that you can take anything that youā€™ve been through or that you overcame, anything that you are knowledgeable in and you can build a brand online and sell a digital service or product or a community and make money.šŸ’ø

Tip #6: Niche down, build your audience, niche up.

I always tell people that the best thing to do is that you want to be known for something. And so, I would say niche really down, so when you build the brand, you can actually niche up and you can show more of different parts of yourself.šŸ’«

I use this in my workshop, like Lego, you get that bottom foundation, and once you have that, if you wanna stack on digital products and actual physical products, if you want to show more of your personality, fashion, or your life, you wanna talk about God and your religion. You can stack it up, but you canā€™t stack something up if you donā€™t have that bottom foundation.

To build an audience, you have to be known for something. Someone has to know what theyā€™re coming to you for, and what they're getting from you, to follow. And once you build that reputation, business, the thing youā€™re known for, then thereā€™s a time when you just feel like you can just start sharing more of your life.šŸ“ø

And thatā€™s where I am right now. I can talk about my products and the next time I can talk about my life with my son going to the park. It makes showing up a lot easier.

Tip #7: If somethingā€™s working, live in it until itā€™s time to pivot.

When somethingā€™s working, donā€™t be in a hurry to go to the next thing. I did that mistake at the beginning. I did my $5K challenge and I hit that in 22 days, and thatā€™s kind of the thing that I became known for.šŸŒŸ

When I reached my goal, I thought I wanna make more than $5k, so I want to move away from this challenge, per se, so I kind of started moving away from it. But I realized, I probably couldā€™ve leveraged that a little bit better and stayed there and build that up a little bit before I move on to the next thing.šŸš€

Sometimes, weā€™re in a hurry to move on to the next thing, we forget to enjoy that time in our business or journey.

Tip #8: Set a goal.

The best way to start in digital marketing is to set a goal.šŸŽÆ

I donā€™t know everything, but Iā€™m learning, this is how much I wanna make and watch me crush it. Share your journey. I think thatā€™s an incredible way to just start. Just get your foot at the door.

Think, ā€œIā€™m not going back, this is gonna work, and move forward.ā€

Tip #9: Invest in yourself.

I would really recommend investing in yourself. People think you can learn education for free. While you absolutely can, I do think that with building anything successful, you need to invest. Whether thatā€™s time or money.

I would rather invest money because when you can learn how to save time, youā€™ll eventually make more money.šŸ’øšŸ’øšŸ’ø

I have a mentor because I have blinders when it comes to my business. And so sometimes, someone looking in could just tell you a few little things and that could change everything. And so why waste time being stuck when you can have someone look into your business or feed in to you and switch it and change everything.šŸ’”

Iā€™m a huge advocate of investing in a coach or mentor or yourself when it comes to learning something.

What's it like to be an entrepreneur, the good and the bad?

I love that I get to help so many people. I love making money but I genuinely love seeing my students make money. That excites me just as much as if it was my money.šŸ’Æ

But there are challenges, I work at home and I love my son, I love being able to work from home, but there are days when my husband is pulling him out of the room and heā€™s screaming, and that mom guilt sets in.

But I remember that I could be out of the home and be gone 9-10 hours a day and be tired. And thereā€™s always gonna be that struggle ā€” our babies are always gonna want us. I think working at home when we have kids can be that struggle.šŸš§

Sometimes, women feel guilty for declaring that we want to make a lot of money while still saying I want to be a present mom and I think we can do both. I think building a business online can give us that. But sometimes I struggle with,

Am I being too ambitious? What would people say when Iā€™m too ambitious?

Donā€™t feel guilty as long as you can set strict boundaries, you are doing something that can absolutely change your babiesā€™ lives. My husband and I know that through this business, we can buy a home and be able to travel. Our goal is to take our son out of the country next year for a month because we can work from anywhere. Itā€™s just amazing.āœØ

Tip#10: If itā€™s meant to be, itā€™s up to me.

Whether you believe you can do it or not, youā€™re right. Itā€™s one of my favorite quotes. Know that if youā€™re gonna be successful, it rises and falls on you. You can absolutely build a business online and change a generation after you.šŸ™Œ

We are just living in the day and time where we can easily find opportunities to make money online. You just have to have that mindset - Iā€™m gonna do something different, Iā€™m gonna blaze my own trail.šŸ”„

Thereā€™s no better time to be an entrepreneur than now, and weā€™re not even at our peak yet. The industry is only growing. So if youā€™re in this industry or if youā€™re wanting to be an entrepreneur, wanting to get into marketing, any sorts, any type of business online, we are only going to grow.šŸš€
